Our Background
ME:
I am Rosa the founder and owner of Ruff Stuff. From a young age I have felt a strong connection to animals, especially with dogs and horses. I am passionate about their lifestyles and well being. I am canine first aid trained, and have helped with the rescue & rehabilitation of dogs whenever possible. Over the years I have worked with a large variety of breeds; from Pomeranian puppies through to hyper Huskies.
THE BUSINESS:
After working in recruitment for several years with an idea burning in my mind, in 2013 I decided to take the scary leap to open my own day care premises. My main focus was to promote pack socialisation, and to give dogs ample exercise freely whilst in a safe controlled environment.
I rented a beautiful farm space and built up facilities and a team over time. After 2 years of being open we were a team of 7 caring for up to 30 dogs per day. It was a fantastic enriching environment for the dogs and everything that I had previously imagined creating. I gained essential experience with dog behaviour during these years. Unfortunately this dream ended when covid hit.
Whilst I hope to find a suitable premises again soon, I have adapted how I work so that I can still offer fantastic care but to a lesser amount of dogs.
